Here We Go

Howdy students and parents!

As promised, here we go with a classroom blog. The purpose is to give us another way to learn from each other, review what we did in class, and express our scientific thinking.

Right now we are deep into our unit on The Theory of Plate Tectonics. I will try to go back and review all the lessons we've done, but right now we are in the process of writing a letter to the scientific colleagues of Alfred Wegner, the scientist who came up with the idea of Continental Drift back in the early 1900's.

Now we are beginning to conceptualize the MECHANISM that's moving the Tectonic Plates, and it has to do with heat inside the Earth.

I hope some students will begin posting their letters here for us all to learn from!

Thanks for visiting, bookmark now on your del.icio.us account!

Back To Earth

Monday I did something most of have only dreamed about. I experienced zero gravity. For real and without chemical enhancement, unless you count the motion sickness medication we all took. You might have seen it somewhere in the media, the sponsors did a good job of getting the word out.
